Orientation Day
At the end of the year prior to starting at Estrella, we offer an opportunity for children and families to explore the kindergarten, meet our educators and become familiar with our incredible outdoor learning environment before the year begins. This is the first opportunity for families to connect, meet other children and start building relationships as they begin their journey with the Estrella community.
Orientation Day is the first interaction our families have with the Estrella Community which happens late in the year prior to starting with us.
Getting together through the year
Building community and belonging is a priority for us at Estrella. Our annual Welcome Picnic is a wonderful way for new and returning Estrella Preschool families to connect at the beginning of the year. Held each February, the afternoon brings together our 3-year-old and 4-year-old kinder communities for play, friendly conversations and icy poles for the children.
Families also have the opportunity to try on and order optional Estrella uniforms, including colourful t-shirts and windcheaters. Thanks to the support of our community, proceeds from uniform sales helped fund new aprons for our wonderful teaching staff
Welcome Picnic
Estrella Preschool’s Easter Picnic is a favourite with our children and a wonderful way to bring our kinder community together at the end of first term. Families enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny, an exciting Easter egg hunt and a variety of Easter-themed crafts and activities. It’s a fun and relaxed opportunity for families to connect and celebrate together.
Easter Picnic
The Annual Christmas Picnic is a favourite event on our kinder calendar. Families gather to enjoy a picnic and barbecue while children are entertained with festive activities, giving parents the chance to catch up and connect. We provide a performer for the children and even a visit from a very special someone! It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our amazing kinder community, reflect on the year that was and end on a high together.
Christmas Picnic
Trivia Night
Our Annual Trivia Night is the highlight of our fundraising calendar and our biggest fundraising event of the year. This adults-only evening brings together our wonderful kinder community for a night of laughter, friendly competition and connection, all while raising valuable funds to support our kindergarten.
Our silent auction and raffle feature an incredible range of generously donated prizes from local businesses and supporters. Every ticket purchased, raffle entered and auction bid placed helps us raise vital funds to enhance our children's learning environment and provide resources and experiences that benefit every family at our kinder.
Trivia Night is a fantastic opportunity to meet other parents, enjoy a great night out and make a meaningful contribution to our kinder community.

Father's Night & Mother's Night
Estrella Preschool’s educators go above and beyond to create magical evenings for mothers and special people to enjoy with their child around Mother’s Day, and again later in the year for fathers and important male figures.
This year, children created special bracelets for their mums or special person to take home. The evening included plenty of other fun activities to enjoy together, including crown making, colouring, reading stories, singing songs and even a little yoga. These special events celebrate the important people in our children's lives while strengthening connections within our kinder community.
Grandparents Day
A cherished morning where grandparents and special family members are invited to experience kinder life, share in activities and create lasting memories with their grandchildren. Weather permitting, we may even head to the local reserve to enjoy some fresh air and nature-based activities together.
Kew Traffic School
Each year in November, we use some of our fundraising funds to book a session at Kew Traffic School for both our 3-year-old and 4-year-old groups. Children enjoy exclusive use of the venue and spend a couple of hours riding around with their friends in a fun and engaging environment.
Open Day
Each year in May, Estrella Preschool educators and committee members open our doors to prospective families. Open Day is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what it means to be part of the Estrella community and why our kindergarten is a place where children can truly thrive during their early years.
We proudly display our special “Welcome to Estrella” artwork sign, created by our current children, and have little goodies for prospective children to take home after exploring and playing at Open Day.
