About Us

Set within the leafy surrounds of Watson Park in Ashburton, Estrella Preschool offers 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs that funded and approved by the Victorian Government.

For around seventy years Estrella has been nurturing children as they start their education journey. We’ve even seen successive generations pass through the gates. This central role in the local community has created a proud reputation and a supportive and committed wider community of parents and friends.

Our Facilities

Outdoor Spaces

We are blessed with a large outdoor area, offering children a safe natural environment in which they can play to their hearts’ content. Large shade cloth areas and trees provide shade and we are a SunSmart registered centre. 

The outdoor space includes swings, a digging patch, sandpit, cubby house, climbing frames and forts, a pirate ship, and a fairy garden.  Recent additions include a flower and vegetable garden, and a worm farm which the children help maintain.

Indoor Spaces

Our indoor spaces are fun and functional, featuring a wonderful open plan layout where the teachers and children can observe and interact with each other from anywhere in the room. Our indoor environment is air-conditioned/heated and filled with natural light.

We have divided the space into zones, including: the home corner, the book nook, a painting station and a carpeted area which is perfect for blocks and story time. 

At different times of the year the teachers and children decorate areas of the room to create unique and seasonal learning experiences, such as autumn leaves, hatching chicks, and puppet shows.
