In 2026, Estrella is getting an upgrade!
We are very excited to have renewal works occuring at Estrella in 2026. This will create a fresh new space with the addition of a new entryway and foyer, office space, larger kitchen and staff room, improved childrens bathroom facilities and increased storage. The renewal works will update the building and further improve the experience for children attending Estrella in the future.
The renewal works started in January and will be completed by the end of 2026 at the latest (date to be confirmed, pending progress). During this time Estrella has been relocated just around the corner to 18 Taylor Street Ashburton. The move back to our Chamberlain Street site will occur during school holidays to minimise any impact to our children and families. We are looking forward to welcoming families to our upgraded facilities in 2027!
We’ll still be operating as normal, just a small jump away at Solway Primary School.
During the renewal we will be relocating our program to the Solway Primary School Hall at 18 Taylor Street, Ashburton. This is great news for our families as it is only a short distance from Estrella but also provides the benefit of being close to Solway Primary School which will make it easier for current Solway families but also enhance the transition for children who will be attending Solway in the future building familiarity with the school. We will be working closely with the Solway Teaching Team to enable the Estrella children to have access to the Solway facilities including the playground, kitchen garden and Library which will further enhance the experience we provide at Estrella.
The Estrella Committee will continue to provide updates as we get more information and clarification on the plans.
